The past few weeks have seen many developments that I'm excited to share with you, starting with the announcement of the "Green Season Attainments Race" (or G-SAt for those of you who like standardized testing acronyms). Effort Inc. and HorizonLine are partnering with Diamondbrand Outdoors to host a fun-filled event in the paddling season leading up to our beloved Green Race. The G-SAt race will be held on October 12th at high evening (5:00PM) and will be a great opportunity for you to come out with friends and spark some trash talk before the Green Race. The first attainments race (held this past spring) was attended by pro-paddlers and weekend warriors alike, and it boasted some killer prizes provided by Diamond Brand (can you say carbon-shaft, AT paddle and Osprey backpack? Woo-hoo!). So come out and help us make this next race a great event.
Furthermore, I'm happy to announce that The Green Race Movie and The Green River Narrows Poster are now on sale through the Effort TV website (http://www.effort.tv/store.htm). Buy them together on Effort.tv to get a cool discount.
For my own part, I think the poster is a seriously awesome piece of Green River art, and I can't wait to lay my hands on several copies. Call me biased, but take a look for yourselves as well (www.effort.tv/home.htm). This poster is built on a unique aerial photograph of the Monster Mile of the Narrows which is presented underneath multiple paddling stills that show the major rapids on the Green. Just to show you how good it is, here are a few of the B-photos that didn't make the final cut:
